Makeup Tutorial: Eyeshadow makeup with subtle Nude Lips

Eyeshadow eyes and nude lips – This look is another bold look with the accent given to the eyes. It is time for me to write about what I call my signature makeup. It will be different, but not lacking some of the aspects used in my previous post. Now some may think it is heavy, others may think it’s pretty light. I call it my signature makeup look because I combine 2 of my different eye makeup styles. Now some may wonder, why would someone combine 2 different styles? For me the reason is that I found that both bring out 2 different aspects of my eyes. It brings out the shape of my eye whilst the other highlights and sharpens my eyes.

I will be using 2 different eyeshadow palettes, contrast eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner and mascara:

  • The Body Shop Down to Earth eyeshadow Quads Smoky Plum
  • Maybelline The Nudes eyeshadow Palette
  • MAC contrast eyeshadow dark blue
  • L’Oreal Super Liner liquid eye liner black
  • Bourjois Mascara Volume Glamour Ultra Curl

I have numbered the colours I used in the order that I applied the eyeshadow:

Eyeshadow application

So after the basic face makeup and the basic white eyeshadow (1) is applied to the eyeshadow region, a light beige (2) is applied to the eyeshadow region up till just above the crease as well as under the bottom eyelash.

I then applied (3) to the main area of the eyelid where most of the eyeshadow will be applied,

Giving the Eyelash depth

Shade (4) is applied on the upper eyelid on the border of the upper eyelashes. This will create the base for that region, as well as help create depth.

Shaping your Eye makeup

Shade (5) is one of the mainly shades which will help create the form of the eye makeup. It is put on the border of the lower eyelash, continuing to the far end, turning towards till the crease at an angle to create a sharp corner.

The eyeshadow shade continued till half of the upper region of the eyelid area just above the crease.

I then add additional eyeshadow of the same shade, on the corner of eyeshadow, which was previously made.

This is done to darken the corner and the brush is used more towards the inner part of the eyeshadow area.

Contrast Eyeshadow application

I then Apply the MAC contrast eyeshadow (6) using a blending brush. The blending brush is which actually not a brush but has a sponge structure and it is one of my favourite tools to use.

I apply the contrast eyeshadow on the upper eyelash region. I usually start in the middle moving towards the end and then apply the inner section closer to the nose, until the line joins with the primary line.

When applying the contrast eyeshadow, I also extend the shade (6) a little further than where the eyelashes end.

Using the contrast eyeshadow, I apply it to the region of the corner previously made. I begin with the corner and continue it just a bit further than the eyeshadow previously applied, covering 2/3 of the area just above the crease.

Blending Eyeshadow

I then use the shade (7) which was previously used as shade (4), to help blend the contrast eyeshadow with the lighter colours.

This shade is pretty light on its own, which makes it perfect when blending a very dark tone with lighter tones.

Liquid Eyeliner application

After all the eyeshadow is done, I use the L’Oreal liquid eyeliner and begin applying it to the upper eyelash border. I really like the tip of the liquid eyeliner, as it is easy to use and is very handy if you want to create a wing which begins thin and the further you move, the thicker the line gets.
I always start from the middle of the eyelash border and work my way till the very end and a little further, keeping the line straight and not at an angle.

Once both eyes are done equally, I returned to the first eye and make a thin line which starts were there are the most eyelashes on the top eyelash and continue it till it joins with the first line.

I then move to the bottom eyelash and apply a thin line along the eyelash border. For the bottom eyelash, I begin at the furthest inner end, where the eyelashes begin and draw a line all the way till the end and a little more.

I always make sure that the top line is longer than the bottom line.

Blend in the Liquid Eyeliner

I then use the contrast eyeshadow (8), previously use as shade (6), and use my eyeshadow blender and simply go over the bottom eyelash border line which has the liquid eyeliner that has by now dried.

The reason I do this is for the liquid eyeliner not to look too sharp on the eye. With the contrast eyeshadow, I mellow down the intensity of the liquid eyeliner, giving it a more blended look.

Mascara:

The final step is the mascara, which I mainly apply to the upper eyelashes. I only apply the mascara once for the bottom eyelashes.

Nude Lips

Lip liner

For the nude lips, I always use lip balm before beginning to apply even the base face makeup. Once the eyes are done, I simply make an outer lip line using the nude lip liner Nude Wave from Bourjois.

As for the lips I used:

  • Bourjois Nude Wave lip liner
  • Bourjois 02 Beige Trench lipstick

Lipstick

After the lip liner, I use one of my favourite nude lipsticks from Bourjois called 02 Beige Trench.
