Product Review: Remington Hair Curler
Remington hair curler product review – This a styling tool I have searched for a long time! Following my previous article on my two go-to hairstyling techniques, I can now add a third styling technique to the list. I finally found a curler which works perfectly for me! After a very long search, I finally managed to get my hands on a curler which works great for anyone who has long, thick and wavy hair. I have tried many different styling tools and to be honest even when hairdressers style my hair, there is only a handful of stylists whose work doesn’t fall apart after a few hours. Long story short, here I present to you the Remington CI606 Curl Revolution Automatic Hair Curler.
Remington CI606 Curl Revolution Automatic Hair Curler
As the video above shows just how simple it is to use the Remington Hair Curler. It takes a little getting used to as there is less manual and more automatic functions, but trust me, you get the hang of it pretty fast. It is this automatic function, which is making all the difference for those who have long hair. As in my case, the majority of time, my hair is longer than my arm’s length, which makes it practically impossible to style without having someone else to style it for me.
Luckily, I’m not a big fan of getting my hair styled, however, there are times when you really want to style your hair and the Remington hair curler is the perfect solution for those curls I would normally have to hope to achieve in a salon.
- The curler heats up in just 30 seconds.
- There are 5 temperature settings.
- The rotating switch allows you to choose to rotate the curler to the right or left.
- The curler also has special tourmaline-ionic coating which prevents heat damage and reduces static.
- The curler also has an auto shutoff function which activates in 60-minutes.
Using the Remington CI606 Hair Curler
Using the hair curler is pretty simple. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that when you place the hair in the opening, make sure to put the hair all the way in. Once you switch on the rotation, the hair you primarily placed into the curler will automatically be moved upwards and released as the rest of the hair will pass through this same path, resulting in you having soft curls. The automatic rotation is the one thing that took me a while to get used to, but once I did, the process couldn’t have been easier!
Make sure not to use too much hair at one go. Use smaller threads of hair, in order to allow the heat to get through all the hair. My hair texture is pretty thick, so I made sure to repeat the curling routine twice on every thread of hair. I can’t say exactly how many threads to use as everyone’s hair texture is different. Apart from heat distribution, the amount of hair you place will play a role in the hair curls you want to achieve. The more you place, the more loose and more wave-like they will be, whilst the less you place will result in smaller sculptured curls.
My overall review on Remington Hair Curler
All in all, this is the best tool I have found for my hair. The rotating function is a huge help for anyone who has long hair, as you no longer have to stretch out your arms in hopes to get through the entire length of your hair. You also don’t need to worry about whether or not all the hair will get enough heat to result in those soft curls. I had this problem with a normal wand. I was unable to get the heat distributed equally among the entire length as my hair is very thick and I have a lot of it! It also took very long to curl all my hair, and I’ll be honest, I’m not too fond of spending 4+ hours doing my hair which will fall apart in less hours than it took to do.
When it came to how long those curls lasted, I was honestly surprised that they remained styled up until I had to go and wash my hair. It is honestly a rare occasion for my hair to remain styled for longer than a few hours, so that was certainly the cheery on the cake in making this tool my number one hair curler!
Time wise, I used this curler twice. The first time it took me just over an hour to get through my hair and the second time around 50 minutes. It took me longer to straighten my hair when I got my new straightener!!
Thank you for reading 🙂 I hope you enjoyed this post! Feel free to comment below and let me know which is your ‘go-to’ curl styler.
Bonus article is on my hair care routine for long, thick and wavy hair like mine. I don’t like to use a lot of products, so if you’re like me, you should check it out! I also include one product that has helped deal with humidity and has given my hair the chance to show the depth of colour and an overall rich and shiny look, like from a magazine cover 😉
